Thanks Garry. I was about to send you an email so you'll check your statistics for the links :-)
Now you can tag somebody else if you like :-)

Thank you for the tag, my first inbound link from another blogger (can you tell I'm new at this?). I shall celebrate with nice cup of tea.

My 5 reasons for blogging are:

1. To pass on useful content - there are lots of completely random blogs about with nothing in particular to contribute, so I try not to fall into that type of blogger (kick me if I do). I know little about a lot, but hopefully enough about something to help others.

2. To learn - blogging is new to me, web development is not. The potential for traffic and recognition in the blogging community is huge. Why didn't I start earlier!!

3. To reduce the amount of coding I need to do - scripts like wordpress allow you to create great looking sites that are so flexible that you can get web sites up and running with little effort

4. To Network - meeting like minded people in the blogging community can have good business potential too... it's good to talk.

5. To earn - income from blogs and web pages in general has been demonstrated by many people. I want to be one of them.

So there you go, that's why I do it

I blog because,

*I just like to share what I know with others,
*I would like to teach people things they don't know, things like giving useful tips and tricks,
*I have got to earn a little to pay for my bills for the broadband connection here at my home.
*I want to make my presence on the net.

Thank you very much for giving us your important reasons to blog. Hopefully your comment will inspire others to give us their reasons to blog here. No need for waiting to be tagged.

It sounds like you've got your priorities in order when it comes to blogging. I haven't been tagged, but here are some of my reasons:

1. Present useful information to others.
I scan through hundreds of posts each day, picking out the 3 to 5 gold nuggets that I find related to my topic of interest (photography). I use my blog to give credit to those who inspire me and to share these important pieces of information with others who don't read through hundreds of posts each day.

2. Share my artistic work.
In addition to the words I put on my pages, I like to put up one of my photos for each post. I like the idea that other photographers will be seing my work, and maybe it will inspire them to do something new.

So those are my two main reasons for blogging.
