You're very welcome, Simonne. I'm so glad that you're reading my bits of literature :-)

Johno, your comment made my day, I just didn't have time to reply right away. Thank you so much for your kind words. "cozy corner of the Internet" - mind if I borrow your definition for my blog's another tagline? :-)

Thanks, kRiZ. It took me awhile to find the right photo, but when I saw this one, I knew that it would be a perfect fit.

I thoroughly enjoyed that.
This is my calm place set away from the hordes of Web 2.0, Blogs about blogging, etc, etc. This is my little cosy corner of the Internet. Actually, I've never been a great fan of Hemingway (dare I say it?), but after reading this piece, I shall try again. This one reminded me of Graham Greene's, The Quiet American; not quite sure why, but when I came to the end, that was the first thing that came into my head.
These lit pieces would make a great separate RSS feed (at least as an option).

Keep these coming, please!

oh, you're very welcome, Joe. You've got quite an interesting blog yourself - sharing with others your experience writing short stories. I bookmarked your blog for future reading.

This story always makes me want to drink brandy even though I've never tried it. Thanks for prompting the re-read. I hadn't visited with this one in awhile. I had forgotten how wonderfully Hemingway plays with the contrasting temperments and moods right up until that final line.
