No, I haven’t heard about that seminar until now. I’m glad that you’re a patient blogger, but that most importantly not a passive one. Keep planting seeds and learning, and one day you’ll be begging for help to collect the harvest. :-)

I understand that my blog needs some time to get anywhere in the blogosphere. I am a patient man and can wait it out. Meanwhile, I am planting seeds that I will watch grow this summer. I am not in it for the get rich quick scheme.

Thank you so much for the answer to my question. Thanks to your traffic post, I now have some tougher concrete in my foundation. Have you ever heard of The System Seminar? I just attended it two weeks ago and was given a vision for how my blog should operate. It is a conference organized by Ken McCarthy, a good friend of mine… he created the first Internet Marketing Conference back in 1994.

You do possess a lot of the qualities of a blogging expert. Even if you don’t feel like one, you are perceived as one by me.

You can check out my post on Traffic tips – the results of a group project – they should help you with getting some ideas on how to generate some incoming links.

But yes, the best way to get some links would be to write interesting articles that you yourself would consider linking to if you saw them on other blogs, comment on other blogs, ask questions in your comments, like you did here, and you can even link to your posts in the comments if they’re related to the post you’re commenting on.

Another important thing to realize is that it takes time to build up your blog, it won’t become successful overnight, unless you were born with a blogging spoon in your mouth :-) So don’t give up, keep writing, promoting your blog and interacting with your readers and other bloggers.

Thanks for this explanation concerning Technorati Authority! As a newbie blogger, I have been struggling with Technorati this past year.

This idea of online social networking really intrigues me. I am finding that blog roll linking requires direct online discourse between bloggers. This agreement of “I’ll link to your site if you link to mine” is one I am just starting to explore.

I just attended a seminar where Dave Taylor mentioned that it is the bloggers responsibility to go out and actively comment on blogs, providing meaningful discussion and discourse. Then a link is created between the blogs by the blogger themselves.

Does Technorati also count links in comments on blogs or must the link be in the blog roll?
