Thanks for the Top 5 list, Stephen. I don't think it has to do anything with the age, but with the taste. I don't consider myself old, but I do know and like all those bands and songs ;-)

Well, my idea of inspiration may be a little different than others have. But I should give you the disclaimer that I’m prob”ly more than a tad older than most of you here. I’ll give you five songs:

1. “Urgent” by Foreigner
2. “Gimme Shelter” by the Stones
3. Jimi Hendrix’ version of Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower”
4. “Turn You Inside Out” by REM
5. Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man”

It was hard picking only five. But the sound of these five just get my engine running.

Glad you enjoyed the post, Marques. I too find it easier to work with the music in the background.

You are most welcome, Stephen. Perhaps you could share with us your top three most inspirational songs.

Vivien, you've got me thinking now of my last 20-song list of ones I found inspirational. And I do not mean, like, religious. Haven't done one of those in, oh, maybe 20 years. I wonder what I’d have on it now. Thanks for making me think about it.

I don't know if any source of inspiration would lead me to write a song (really really don't think so), but music is an essential part of my life and of my workflow. It's rare that I can dip into any task if there isn't any source of music nearby. Don't know if this is an advantage or not, but it's how it is.

Again, great post Vivien.
