What is Your Colour?

March 5th, 2007 :: by Vivien

peachAccording to Colorstrology.com sponsored by Pantone, my Birthday colour is Peach - Pantone 14-1227. I can’t say that I believe in Astrology, or in this case, Colorstrology, but I find it fascinating to read horoscopes, especially when some of the things match in the profile. So what metaphysician Michele Bernhardt had to say about me in her Colorstrology?

7 Astonishing Minutes to Get Inspired

March 5th, 2007 :: by Vivien

I always like to see what’s going on behind the scene, how things are made, how artists work, how certain effects are achieved. I guess that’s how I got into a web design - I wanted to know how can I build a site from scratch.

When I was a little girl, I loved going to a park where every weekend a couple of artists were bringing their easels, palette with paint and drawing people. I remember that I didn’t want to join other kids and run to merry-go-rounds or the ferris wheel, I preferred to stand near one of the artists and watch the magic in action, gaze at how a person’s face appears on a blank canvas. Those artists inspired me to draw. Unfortunately, it’s been a long time since I drew last.

Flattering Spam

March 4th, 2007 :: by Vivien

I’ve read about this type of spam on a couple of blogs, but only now I’ve started receiving them as well. Another Handy Wordpress plugin

March 4th, 2007 :: by Vivien

Today I realized that I forgot to mention another plugin in my Handy Wordpress Plugins list. A while ago I wrote how to create teasers with a More quick tag in my post How to tease your blog readers and gain more page views. But after upgrading to Wordpress 2.1 I’ve noticed that the posts in my feeds are not displaying in full anymore, even though I’ve specified to use a Full feed in my RSS feeds setup. It turned out that the More link is activated in my full feeds as well, thus not displaying the entire posts anymore.
I have searched all over the internet for any advice on how to fix this problem, but to no avail.

I’ve decided to dedicate all 8 Worthwhile Weekly Bits of Information that I found this week to the topic of Security.
First of all, I want to thank all Plugin writers for making our blogging life easier by donating your time and your skills to the Wordpress community. The Secret Truth About The Plugins Security

March 3rd, 2007 :: by Vivien

Do you want to know a Secret about Wordpress plugins (actually about any plugins)? Well, remember the last two questions in my post with 8 Questions to Ask about Wordpress Plugins? Most people never question the code in plugins because they’re not programmers, don’t know PHP and even if they might have some reservations about the security levels in plugins they don’t know how to test them.
