Sometimes I get carried away while surfing the Web. There’s something very hypnotic in the way that Web works - one click might take you to a whole new world, another click - and you discovered a hidden treasure that gets you excited like a kid looking at the sun through that magical colourful glass.
That’s how I feel now after my encounter with this website: Spell With Flickr, created by Erik Kastner, using PHP and JavaScript. Try typing a word or a phrase on that site and it will surprise you back with every letter transformed by a photo from Flickr’s collection of “One Letter” - shots of single letters by Flickr users.

Having so many things to take care of it’s not surprising that many of us are yearning for more hours in a day. I often wish if I only had 48 or at least 36 hours in a day, my life would’ve been so much easier and organized. But since this will forever remain in history as wishful thinking, I need to find other ways to make things work in a more efficient way.

I’ve been tagged by Paul from Reflections to spill out 8 beans by writing about 8 things that you don’t know about me. This meme was going around blogiverse for quite a long time and If I’m not mistaken, it used to ask for 5 Things. I wonder who switched it to my blog’s favourite number 8? I tried to look it up by going backwards on who tagged Paul, and so on, but was able to trace only up to 8-9th person who didn’t link to the originating tagging page.

Whenever we’re presented with thousands of choices it’s always difficult to make up our mind. In design perhaps the most challenging decisions we constantly face are the ones about selecting the right colour and typeface combinations for our projects.

Blame it on Ronald and his Peeve Week 2 for putting me in exasperating mode. I already shared my peeves on Culture and Misconceptions on his blog and will be writing more peeves on Internet and Stereotypes. Here though I’d like to talk about the differences between certain terms that often are being inadvertently erased.
Font vs. Typeface, Web vs. Internet, Tag vs. Attribute, Java vs. JavaScript… feel free to add to this list of confusing terms.

I can’t say I believe in horoscopes, but I do occasionally find them fascinating. My most favourite animal is a tiger. I’m not really sure if I’m spellbound by it because I was born in the Year of Tiger and somehow feel connected to it, or is it simply because with its gorgeous fur, intricate stripes and mesmerizing eyes, the tiger is an absolute King of Jungles and the entire animal world. Either way I feel very lucky and proud to be part of the Tiger’s kingdom.

Did you ever wonder who coined a certain phrase, what is the origin of some words we often use but seldom think about how did they become a part of our vocabulary? I was writing my entry for Ronald’s Peeve Week when I stumbled upon a very interesting history on Wikipedia behind a certain word I used in my article. That’s when I realized how fascinated I always get when finding out the origins of words.

June 5th, 2007 :: by Ronald Huereca

I’m very pleased to introduce Ronald Huereca. This is his first guest appearance on Inspiration Bit. Ronald comes from a strong technical background, including electronics and business. He is a remarkable Web Developer and an amazing WordPress plugin author.
“I have an idea…”
That phrase is usually how good or bad ideas are formed. In my case, I had an idea to write a series for Devlounge that discussed how to write a WordPress
plugin. The journey was long and tedious. I wish to share some of the things I learned while writing a series for a blog.
