In my previous article I wrote about how paying attention to details will give a distinct and memorable look to your blog or website. One of those usually ignored elements are the bullets in the unordered lists. With a little bit of CSS magic and a unique set of icons you can turn your bulleted lists into an impressive work of art.
You can either create your own icons in any available Image Editing software, or download them from a numerous stock or free icon resources. In this post I will share with you 8 such icon sites and will demonstrate a simple CSS code that will teach you how to replace the default HTML bullets with the custom made icons. You can also give a quick makeover to your menu items by adding some attractive icons, but that’s a topic for another post. For now, get inspired with the iconic art.

If there is one thing that places a designer into an admired category of great designers it is the attention to details. When the designer is able to focus on small, usually ignored details and creatively integrate them with the rest of the design, often taking it to new heights, making them to stand out and zero in our attention, that’s when we feel a presence of the virtuoso at work. That’s when we sense a premeditated approach of an artisan meticulously crafting a work of art.

I have decided to extend the deadline for my Group Writing Project - for another week.
I’ve had several people who were interested in participating but needed more time to get their entries in.
At this moment I have received 12 submissions (plus mine). If we could double that by May 24 that would be awesome.

This article has been submitted by Lauren Krause via e-mail as an entry to the Group Writing Project - Source Of Inspiration. Special thanks to Tara from GraphicDesignBlog for promoting this group project.

Lauren is a gifted artist. She works as a Graphic and Interactive Designer. Her design philosophy is worth noting: “Design doesn’t have to be complicated to be good… The most important thing to keep in mind about design is that it is supposed to deliver a message, if the message is lost in the design, form has overtaken function.”

I have been tagged to tell the blogiverse How Do I Write An Outstanding Post? If you want to see who is out of his mind thinking that I’m writing outstanding posts, click on the bloggy-tag image on the right. Personally, I don’t believe that the word “outstanding” accurately describes my writing. There are other much better words that give a full justice to my blog posts: superb, magnificent, exceptional or at least, sensational.
hmm.. is that what they call a “wishful thinking”? Frankly, I can only hope that one day my writing could be appropriately characterized as “exceptional”. Presently, I feel very honoured when someone considers some of my posts outstanding. But then there’s a nagging question in mind: which posts people consider to be remarkable - the same posts that I personally find noteworthy or the posts that I would label as bestsellers?

In the ever expanding blogiverse it is really hard to get noticed and be different. After all, there are over 70 million blogs tracked by Technorati with over 120K blogs launching every day. So when I stumble upon a blog that stands out in the blogging crowd I feel very lucky. But when those blog Rebels are among my loyal readers my excitement hits the ninth cloud, and I feel so honoured and grateful that they actually find my blog interesting and worthy being read and even commented on.
Here I present you with 8 Blog Rebels (listed in the alphabetical order) who stood by me, supporting and encouraging with their insightful feedback since the infant days of Inspiration Bit.

There are only 11 letters in the word INSPIRATION, but each of them breathes a powerful energy into everyone who’s lucky enough to discover the fountain of “divine guidance”.
Inspiration is a paradox. Don’t let it fool you: it rarely comes with an announcement: “Oh, you’ve been looking for me? Here I come - catch!”. Inspiration is very personal. You may not consider my sources of inspiration to be motivational for you, and vice versa. Inspiration can come from unexpected sources. It may show up as fragile as the first cherry bud, or as powerful as an explosion that finally breaks the silence in your brain. Fortunately, there are some reliable inspiration sources that you can always count on.
These are my two most dependable inspiration sources:
