When I logged in to my Wordpress Dashboard today my eyes fell on this news: April 30: A Day of Silence on the Blogosphere. As it turned out a new website has been launched to honor the victims of Virginia Tech: onedayblogsilence.com. It’s urging the bloggers to post a graphic on their blogs on April 30th - with no words, no comments, just pay the respect in a complete silence.
Why April 30th, why not now? Why adding a Digg button to the page? Are they expecting more tragedies like this to happen in future and will pressure us to be silent again? Why being silent about it, why not openly talk about the causes, the effects, why not protest all those things that made our society so violent and subhuman?

The very first plugin that I’ve activated on my blog was Akismet. During the first month or so I wasn’t sure if it was actually working or not, since it didn’t catch any spams, although I was already getting comments on my blog. Several weeks later it caught the first spam comment on my blog.

With the greatest pleaser let me present you this article written by the very first guest blogger at Inspiration Bit:
Andrew Rickmann.
Wow, well where to start. This is my first guest spot on anyone else’s blog and it is a little daunting to try and write for someone else’s audience, especially as I think Vivien writes so engagingly. So here goes.
The suggestions for what I should write about were quite original and I must admit to having been slightly stumped by Simonne’s suggestion, “Why are animations so infrequent in blog design?” It has certainly made me think but I’m not sure I have answer, or even a good guess, so I will leave that for you all to ponder some more in your own time.
Vivien also had a good idea, that I write about how I come up with and execute ideas for site design. I may well cover this on my own blog in the future but better designers than me have covered it before and I’m not sure how much more I can add.
What I am going to write about are Ronald’s suggestions which I thought were very original and for some of them something I needed to go away and think about.

As you know I was running this blog ad free, but soon it will change, and Inspiration Bit will be featuring two new ads at the top of the sidebar. You probably guessed who are the two lucky winners of the Fourth Contest with Inspiration Bit. I will custom design 100×50 ad banners for them to advertise any site they want on my blog for three months.
And the Winners Are…

Huh, this Second Contest was the most difficult one to judge and choose the two winners. I liked most of your ideas and prize suggestions. But I had to select only two of you as advertised. So I’ve decided that on Friday, April 13, I’ll pick one more person from the list of entries for the Second Content and present an honorary Final prize from Inspiration Bit from that person’s wishlist on my blog.
